The story

Indiana Caverns is part of the Binkley Cave system, which Gary Roberson began mapping in 1967. The section now toured was found in 2010 along with a large deposit of Ice Age animal bones dated to 38,000 to 42,000 years ago, excavated with the Indiana State Museum. In 2012 cavers connected Blowing Hole and Binkley caves, making the system the longest cave in Indiana, and the cave opened to the public on June 15, 2013.
