We check visitor information against each cave's official website and show the date we did so, but prices, hours and access rules change. Always confirm with the cave before you travel. We link to external websites we don't control and aren't responsible for their content; if we learn that a linked page breaks the law, we'll remove the link.

Cave photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses (CC0, public domain, CC BY, CC BY-SA). The author and license are shown on each photo with a link to the original file.

What happens when you visit

The Cave Guide has no user accounts, no comments and no forms. We don't set cookies and we don't run advertising trackers. Fonts and photos are served from our own server, not from Google or other third parties.

Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records technical access data in server logs: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Logs are deleted after a short period, usually within 30 days, unless they're needed to investigate an attack.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
