Moqui Cave

Kanab, UT
Museum inside a cave.

A family-run museum inside a cave near Kanab, with Native American artifacts, dinosaur tracks, a fluorescent mineral display, rocks and fossils, plus a rock shop.

The story

Garth and Laura Chamberlain bought the cave in 1951 and opened southern Utah's first dance hall and bar inside it, with a live band on weekends. Garth studied geology, archaeology and paleontology, and the museum shows what he collected. After he died in 1988 his son Lex and Lex's wife LeeAnne took over; LeeAnne runs it today.
