The story

Harold Aden Wertz opened Indian Caverns in Spruce Creek to visitors in 1929, with tours that mixed limestone formations with Native American artifacts and stories in the roadside-attraction style of the time. Public tours ended in October 2016, and the property was later acquired for conservation to protect the cave and its bats.
